Hello.
About
Number ONE is a blog about software engineering, AI, DevOps, GNU/Linux, and whatever else I find interesting enough to write about.
I started this site to document things I learn, share useful resources, and sometimes rant about technology and other topics.
I have a particular interest in:
- AI & LLMs — local models, coding assistants, agentic workflows, and the broader AI ecosystem
- DevOps & Linux — VPS hosting, infrastructure, servers, and tools
- Bitcoin — the economics, the philosophy, and the technology
- Software craftsmanship — clean code, good engineering practices, and tools that make developers’ lives easier
About me
I’m a software engineer based in South Africa with over a decade of experience building, maintaining and running systems. I’ve worked across platform development, devops and infrastructure, and more recently, AI-assisted and agentic coding.
The views expressed here are my own and don’t represent any employer or organisation.
